How can I install/uninstall programs in the Windows Control Panel?

To Install a Program from the Windows Control Panel

1. Click Start and then select Control Panel from the menu.

2. When the Control Panel window appears, double click on the Add/Remove Programs icon.

3. Depending on your current view of the Control Panel, you may need to click on Change or Remove Programs if you don’t see the Add/Remove Programs option.

4. When the Add/Remove Programs window appears, click on the Install (or Add New Programs) button, which will begin the Windows Installer.

5. You’ll be asked to insert an installation disc or search for an installation file. You can browse to the installation executable or insert a disc. If you don’t have access to a disc or executable, you’ll need to download the installer before continuing.

6. After you’ve selected the installation file, you’ll need to agree to the license agreement. Click on the I Agree button to continue.

7. Depending on the software being installed, you may be asked to customize the installation. If so, select the components that you want to install.

8. Click Next to continue the installation process.

9. When the installation is complete, click OK to finish the process. Your program has now been installed.

To Uninstall a Program from the Windows Control Panel

1. Click Start and then select Control Panel from the menu.

2. When the Control Panel window appears, double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon.

3. Depending on your current view of the Control Panel, you may need to click on Change or Remove Programs if you don’t see the Add/Remove Programs option.

4. When the Add/Remove Programs window appears, you’ll be presented with a list of all the programs currently installed on your computer.

5. Select the program you wish to uninstall and then click on the Remove (or Uninstall) button.

6. You’ll be presented with a confirmation box. Click on the Yes button to continue the uninstallation process.

7. Depending on the software being uninstalled, you may be asked to customize the uninstallation process. If so, select the components that you want removed from your computer.

8. Click Next to continue the uninstallation process.

9. When the uninstallation is complete, click OK to finish the process. Your program has now been uninstalled.
