How do I change my mouse settings in Windows Control Panel?

1. Click the Start button in the lower left corner of your computer’s screen and then choose Control Panel from the pop-up menu.

2. Once inside the Control Panel, click on the icon labeled “Mouse.”

3. Under the Mouse Properties window, select the tab labeled “Buttons” for general mouse settings. Here, you can adjust the direction your mouse goes by using the buttons or by changing the number of lines it moves when you scroll.

4. To adjust other specific features of your mouse, select the tab labeled “Pointer Options.” Here, you can change the speed of your mouse, disable or enable the pointer trail, and even change the size and design of your pointer.

5. To adjust how your mouse behaves with certain programs, select the tab labeled “Programs.” Here, you can customize how your mouse reacts within specific applications.

6. Some mice have additional options, such as a scroll wheel. To adjust this feature, select the tab labeled “Wheel” or something similar. Here, you can adjust the amount of scrolling the wheel will do and how fast it will scroll.

7. Finally, if you want to customize the double-click speed of your mouse, select the tab labeled “Buttons” again and find the option labeled “Double-Click Speed.” Here, you can adjust the speed at which the mouse registers your double-clicks.

8. When you’ve finished making changes, click the “Apply” button to save your settings. You may need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
