Changing the Date & Time in Windows
Windows allows users to change the date and time to their desired settings. You can also automatically synchronize your computer’s time with an internet time server. This article will guide you through changing the date and time in Windows.
Step 1: Open the Control Panel
To access the options for time and date settings, open the Control Panel. There are a few ways to do this, depending on the version of Windows you are running. In all versions, you can find the Control Panel either from the Start menu or by searching for it in the search bar.
Step 2: Open the Clock, Language, and Region Settings
Once you open the Control Panel, look for the option labeled “Clock, Language and Region”, which should be located under the System and Security heading. Once you click this option, you will be taken to a page where you can make changes to your region, language, system date, and time.
Step 3: Set the Date and Time
The next page will show your current date and time settings. Click the Change date and time button to make changes to these settings. Here you can set both the date and time manually or have your computer automatically adjust to the server’s time. If you opt to manually set the date and time, use the arrows or the calendar to select the appropriate values.
Step 4: Adjust the Time Zone
If needed, you can also adjust the time zone and daylight saving time (DST) settings. To do so, click the Change time zone button, which is located right below the date and time settings. Select the appropriate time zone from the drop-down menu, and if necessary, check the box next to the “Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Saving Time” option.
Step 5: Save and Exit
Finally, click the Save button to apply the changes. Your settings should now be saved and the new time and date should be displayed in the taskbar. You can now exit the Control Panel and the changes will take effect immediately.
