Changing Your Display Settings in the Windows Control Panel
The Windows Control Panel is a central location where you can find, configure and customize many settings related to Windows, including how your computer looks and behaves. You can access Control Panel by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting Control Panel from the list of options.
Once you are in the Control Panel, you can use the search box at the top right to search for what you are looking for or browse through the different categories of settings and options. To change the display settings on your computer, you will want to select Appearance and Personalization followed by Display.
The first option that appears is “Change the size of text, apps, and other items”. This setting allows you to increase or decrease the overall size of items on the screen such as text and icons. If everything is too small, you might want to increase it. If everything is too big, you might want to decrease it. When you click this option, you’ll be presented with three options: “Smaller –100 percent (default)”, “Medium – 125 percent”, or “Larger – 150 percent”. Select the one you prefer and then click Apply.
The next option is “Set custom text size (DPI).” This setting allows you to adjust the size of text and other items on your screen independent of each other. When you click this option, you’ll be presented with a new window with two tabs, “Compatibility” and “Custom DPI.” In the “Compatibility” tab, you can set a custom DPI for certain applications. In the “Custom DPI” tab, you can adjust the DPI for all applications. When you make your changes, click Apply.
The last option is “Change the appearance of your display.” This setting lets you choose a different color scheme or background image for your computer. When you click this option, you’ll be presented with a new window with two tabs, “Basic” and “Advanced.” In the “Basic” tab, you can choose a different color scheme or background image. In the “Advanced” tab, you can customize how windows look, how the mouse acts, and how fonts are displayed. When you make your changes, click Apply.
These are the main display settings that you can adjust in the Windows Control Panel. With these settings, you can customize your computer to look and behave exactly how you want it to.
