How do I disable or enable Windows Firewall in the Control Panel?

To disable or enable Windows Firewall in the Control Panel, follow the steps below.

1. Open the Control Panel. To do this, type ‘control panel’ into the search bar located at the bottom left of your screen and press Enter. This will open the Control Panel window.

2. In the Control Panel window, click on ‘System and Security’.

3. In the System and Security window, click on ‘Windows Firewall’.

4. In the Windows Firewall window, you can see if Windows Firewall is currently enabled or disabled. By default, it should be enabled.

5. To turn off Windows Firewall, click the ‘Turn Windows Firewall on or off’ link located in the left pane of the window.

6. On the next page, select the checkbox next to ‘Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended)’ for both the public and private network settings and then click OK.

7. To turn Windows Firewall back on, go back to the Windows Firewall window and select the checkbox next to ‘Turn on Windows Firewall’ for both the public and private network settings and then click OK.
