There are a few different ways to find out what type of CPU (central processing unit) you have in your computer.
1. Look at the specifications of your computer. If you purchased your computer from a store or online, it should have come with the exact specifications that include the makeup of the system, such as the processor make and model.
2. Open up your system case and look for a physical label on the processor. This label often gives the manufacturer, version, and model of the CPU.
3. Use a software tool to check the CPU’s model and make. For Windows, you can use a program called CPU-Z to detect the processor model and make. For macOS, use System Information. You can also use a third party software tool such as Speccy to gather detailed information on the processor.
4. The CPU’s model number is also listed in the operating system’s control panel. In Windows 10, you can find it by going to the Start menu, clicking on Settings, then select the System option and finally click on the About tab. The processor model will be listed under “System Type”. For macOS, open the Apple Menu, select About this Mac, and click on the System Report button. The processor will be listed under “Processor Name”.
5. Finally, if all else fails, you can always turn to Google and search for the model name/number of your computer, which should return the name and type of CPU.
