There are several ways to uninstall a program on a Windows computer. The method you use will depend on the version of Windows you are running and which program you are trying to uninstall.
In Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 10
1. On most versions of Windows, the easiest way to uninstall a program is through the Start menu. From the Start menu, click on “Control Panel” and then select “Add or Remove Programs”. A list of installed programs will be displayed. Select the program you wish to uninstall and then click the “Uninstall” button that appears at the top of the window. Follow the prompts to complete the uninstallation process.
2. Another way to uninstall a program on Windows is through the Control Panel. In Windows Vista and Windows 7, open the Start menu and type “Control Panel” in the search field. On Windows XP, open the Start menu, select “Settings” and then click “Control Panel”. Once in the Control Panel, select “Programs and Features” from the list of options. A list of programs will be displayed. Click on the program you wish to uninstall and then click the “Uninstall” button. Follow the prompts to complete the removal process.
3. If the program you are trying to uninstall does not appear in either of the above methods, it may be installed as part of another program (such as a bundle of multiple software products). To remove this type of program, go to the main program’s uninstaller, usually located in the same folder where the main program is installed. Then follow the onscreen instructions to remove all components of the bundle.
