How do I view and customize my mouse settings?

1. To view and customize your mouse settings, go to the Settings app on your computer.

2. Then, click on Devices.

3. Here, you should find Mouse and other pointing devices listed under the subheading Input Devices.

4. Select Mouse and then select Additional mouse options located at the bottom of the window.

5. Then, you’ll be taken to the Mouse Properties window, which consists of five tabs: Buttons, Pointers, Pointer Options, Wheel, and Hardware.

6. Here, you can customize your mouse settings, such as the speed, scroll speed, double-click speed, and other functions.

7. For example, if you want to change the speed of your mouse cursor, then go to the Pointer Options tab in the Mouse Properties window.

8. Here, you’ll find a slider bar where you can adjust the speed of your mouse cursor from “Slow” to “Fast”. Move this slider to the desired position and click Apply.

9. If you want to make your mouse scroll faster, then select the Wheel tab. Here you’ll find a slider bar to control the scrolling speed of your mouse. Move this slider bar according to your preference and click OK.

10. You can also customize your mouse buttons and their functions. To do this, go to the Buttons tab located in the Mouse Properties window.

11. Here you’ll find a field listing the functions that are currently assigned to each button. Select the button you want to customize and then click the drop-down menu next to it.

12. From the drop-down menu, select the function you want to assign to the button and click Apply. You can assign different functions to each mouse button, such as opening specific programs or web pages, switching between windows, or launching specific commands.

13. You can also select the Pointers tab to customize the look of your mouse pointer. Here, you’ll find a list of mouse pointer schemes that you can choose from, such as the Windows default pointer, a classic pointer, or even an animated pointer. Select the pointer that you like and click Apply.

14. Finally, if you want to check the status of your mouse hardware and driver, go to the Hardware tab. Here, you’ll find information regarding the manufacturer and model of your mouse, as well as its driver version.

15. To make sure that your mouse is functioning properly, click the Properties button located at the bottom of the window and then select the General tab. Here, you’ll find a button labeled “Device Status”. If this button says “Device is working properly”, then your mouse is in good condition.
