Is it necessary to regularly defragment the hard drive to speed up my PC?

1. Go to Start and then to the Control Panel.

2. Choose System and Security, then select Administrative Tools.
3. Select the Disk Defragmenter icon.
4. In the Disk Defragmenter window, choose the disk drive you want to defragment and click on the Analyze disk button.
5. If the disk needs to be defragmented, click on the Defragment disk button.
6. Allow Disk Defragmenter to finish running.
7. Close the Disk Defragmenter window when the process is complete.
