Where do I find the device manager?

The Device Manager is a tool built into Microsoft Windows operating systems that allows you to manage the hardware devices connected to your computer. With it, you can view and adjust settings for all of your hardware devices such as monitors, keyboards, printers, sound cards, video cards, and more.

To access the Device Manager on a Windows PC, first open the Control Panel. The Control Panel can be opened in many different ways, including pressing ⊞ Win + X and selecting Control Panel, typing ‘control panel’ in the Start menu or taskbar search box, or right-clicking the Start button and selecting Control Panel.

Once in the Control Panel, navigate to System and Security > System > Device Manager. This page will show a list of all of the hardware devices connected to your computer. From here, you can adjust settings for any of these devices.

Double-clicking on a device will bring up its Properties window, which will have a number of tabs at the top. The General tab will give you basic information about the device and any associated drivers, while the Driver tab will allow you to update, roll back, or uninstall the driver for the device. The Resources tab will show you what resources are being used by the device, such as memory addresses and interrupts. The Details tab will contain more granular details about the device’s configuration.

Finally, the Power Management tab can be used to configure how the device powers on and off. This tab will only appear if the device supports power management.

Using the Device Manager, you can quickly and easily access, configure, and manage the hardware devices connected to your computer. If a device is not working correctly or is causing problems, the Device Manager can be used to diagnose and troubleshoot it.
