Adding Programs to the Windows Control Panel
Adding programs to the Windows control panel is very easy. All you need to do is open up the Control Panel and select the “Add/Remove Programs” option. From there, you can choose the program you wish to add and click “Install”. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
If you are installing from a CD, insert the CD into your computer’s drive and the autoplay will begin. Follow the instructions on the screen to install the program.
If you are downloading from the Internet, make sure to save the setup file to your computer before running it. If a security warning appears, click “Run” to proceed with the installation.
Once the program is installed, it should appear in the list of programs in the Control Panel. You can now configure the program’s settings or uninstall it if necessary.
Removing Programs from the Windows Control Panel
Removing programs from the Windows control panel is also very easy. Open up the Control Panel and select “Add/Remove Programs”. You will see a list of all the installed programs. Select the one you want to remove and click “Uninstall”. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the uninstall process.
If you are having trouble locating a particular program, you can use the search field at the top of the window to quickly find it.
Once the program has been uninstalled, it will no longer appear in the Control Panel. However, some programs may leave behind residual files or folders on your computer. To completely remove them, use a tool such as CCleaner to scan your computer for any remaining program files.
