How can I free up more resources on my Windows PC?

1. Uninstall Unnecessary Programs: Go to your Control Panel and uninstall any programs that you don’t need or haven’t used in a while. This will free up RAM, processing power, and hard drive space.

2. Optimize Startup Programs: Many programs launch automatically when you turn on your computer, slowing down the boot process and using up resources. To prevent this, you can use the Task Manager to disable unnecessary programs from starting up when you turn on your PC.

3. Reduce Visual Effects: Turning off visual effects like animations, shadows and transparency can help free up resources. To do this, go to your system properties and under the “Advanced” tab choose the “Performance” options. Uncheck the box next to “Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing” and then click “Apply”.

4. Close Background Apps: Many programs run in the background without you even realizing it. You can close these apps to free up some RAM. To do this, open the Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and see what apps and processes are running in the background. Then select each one and click “End Task”.

5. Clear Temporary Files: Temporary files are stored on your hard drive, taking up valuable space. To delete them, open the Disk Cleanup utility and select the types of files you want to delete. Click “OK” to delete them.
