How do I change my power settings in the control panel?

1. Open the Control Panel on your computer by searching for it in the Start menu, or by pressing the Windows Key + R and then typing “control” in the Run dialog box.

2. Select the “Hardware and Sound” option from the list of categories.

3. Click on the “Power Options” icon from the list of options.

4. You will now be presented with a list of available power plans. You can select one of the default plans or create a custom plan.

5. To create a custom power plan, click the “Create a Power Plan” link at the bottom of the window.

6. You will then be presented with a list of options to customize your new power plan. First, you will need to enter a name for your plan, and then you can select whether you want to save energy or maximize performance.

7. Once you have made your selection, you can choose from the various settings associated with the plan. You can customize the balance between system performance and energy savings. You can also adjust individual settings like display brightness, sleep timer, hard drive idle time and more.

8. Finally, click the “Create” button at the bottom of the window to confirm your changes. Your new power plan will now be available for you to select.

9. If you wish to change any of the settings of the power plan at any point, simply select the relevant plan and edit the settings as desired.

10. When you are finished, simply click “Save Changes” and your new power settings will be applied.
