How do I open a folder in Windows?

There are several different ways to open a folder in Windows depending on the version of Windows you are running.

For Windows 10, 8.x and 7:

1. Double-click the folder icon on your desktop: Simply double-click the folder icon with your mouse from the desktop to open it.

2. Right-click the folder icon on your desktop: You can also right-click the folder icon with your mouse and choose “Open” from the menu that appears.

3. Use File Explorer: Another way to open a folder is to use the File Explorer. First, press the Windows key + the letter E to open the File Explorer. Then, find and select the folder you want to open from the left pane.

4. Use the Run dialog box: You can also open a folder by using the Run dialog box. First, press the Windows key + the letter R at the same time to open the Run dialog box. Then, type the path of the folder into the box and click “OK”. For example, if the folder is on your desktop, you would type in “C:\Users\YourName\Desktop\FolderName”.

5. Use the command line: You can also open a folder using the Command Prompt. First, press the Windows key + the letter X at the same time. Then, select “Command Prompt” from the menu that appears. Then, type the path of the folder into the Command Prompt and press Enter.

For Windows Vista:
