Cryptocurrency is not completely anonymous. Most cryptocurrencies use a form of technology called a blockchain, which allows transactions to be tracked and viewed publicly. Some cryptocurrencies offer added anonymity by mixing or “tumbling” coins, which obscures the origin of the funds.
