Changing Date, Time, and Time Zone in Control Panel

To make changes to the date, time, and time zone in the Microsoft Windows Control Panel, you’ll need to access the “Date and Time” settings.

Windows 10:
To access the “Date and Time” settings in Windows 10, begin by clicking the Start button, then selecting the “Settings” icon from the list of options. This will bring up the Windows Settings page. From here, select the “Time & Language” option.

Once the “Time & Language” menu has opened, locate and select the “Clock and Region” option. This will open the “Date and Time” settings window. Here, you will be able to make any changes necessary to the current date and time, as well as to the time zone.

To change the date, simply select the month, day, and year in the “Date” box, and then use the arrows to adjust it to the desired date. To change the current time, adjust the hours and minutes in the “Time” box, and then use the arrows to fine-tune it to the desired time.

To change your time zone, choose the “Time Zone” option and select your region from the drop-down list. Once you have made all of your changes, click “Apply” to save them.

Windows 7/Vista:
If you are using Windows 7 or Vista, begin by clicking the “Start” button, then selecting the “Control Panel” option from the list of options. This will bring up the Control Panel window. Here, select the “Clock, Language, and Region” option, then the “Date and Time” link. This will open the “Date and Time” settings window, where you can make all of the desired changes.

To change the date, simply select the month, day, and year in the “Date” box, and then use the arrows to adjust it to the desired date. To change the current time, adjust the hours and minutes in the “Time” box, and then use the arrows to fine-tune it to the desired time.

To change your time zone, choose the “Time Zone” option and select your region from the drop-down list. Once you have made all of your changes, click “Apply” to save them.

Windows XP:
For Windows XP, access the “Date and Time” settings by clicking the “Start” button, and then selecting the “Control Panel” option from the list of options. This will bring up the Control Panel window. Here, select the “Date and Time” option.

This will open the “Date and Time” settings window, where you can select “Change Date and Time…” to make changes to the current date and time. Use the arrows to adjust the month, day, and year to the desired date, and the hours and minutes to the desired time.

To change your time zone, select “Change Time Zone…” from the “Date and Time” window, then choose your preferred time zone from the drop-down list. Once you have made all of your changes, click “Apply” to save them.

Regardless of what version of Windows you are using, once you have finished making changes to the date, time, and time zone, be sure to click “OK” to save them. This will ensure that the changes remain in effect, even after you have rebooted your computer.
