How to open a compressed folder in Windows?

To open a compressed folder or file in Windows, you will need to use an archiving tool such as WinRAR or 7-Zip.

First, download and install the appropriate software for your file type. You will then need to select the Compressed (zipped) Folder option from the drop-down menu. Next, choose the folder or file you want to open and click Open.

The selected folder or file will be reserved as its own folder in the program. From the Compressed (zipped) Folder window, you can extract specific files or extract all the files at once. To extract specific files, right-click on the file you want to extract and choose the Extract Here option. To extract all the files, click the Extract button in the top toolbar.

The files will now be extracted to the location specified by you. Depending on your selection, the files may be extracted to the same folder as the compressed folder or a different folder. If you chose a different folder for the extracted files, open Windows Explorer to navigate to the new folder. All the files extracted from the compressed folder should be in this new folder.

Now that the compressed folder is open, you can view and manipulate the files inside the folder. To view the files, double-click any of the files.

If you have multiple compressed folders and files, you can set up your system to automatically extract them when they are downloaded. To do this, open the program you installed and go to the Options menu. Set the option to “Unzip newly downloaded archives automatically”. Now, whenever you download a compressed folder or file, they will be automatically extracted to the specified folder.

Opening a compressed folder or file in Windows is a relatively easy process. All you need to do is select the appropriate program, choose the compressed folder or file, and then extract the contents of the folder. Once extracted, you can then view and manipulate the files.
